About
I write to inspire my reader to see beauty in everything and everyone. My hope is to instill a mindful perspective of blessings and miracles from our daily experiences. I will share stories, poems, prose and photos with those who are seeking a deeper meaning.
I am Vivianna Welflin
Behind that name is an L.A. latina woman born in the ’60s. I’ve been married twenty-eight years to one of few “Welflins” in the United States (trust me, I’ve done the research). I am the proud mother of two adult children in their twenties. My majors were Graphic Arts and English, though I mastered Cafeteria 101 (people watching). I continued my studies at a printing company, a bookbinding company, a stock brokerage firm, a law firm, a crisis center on Skid Row, a bank, a public relations agency, and a preschool. My Executive Assistant skills were enhanced in preparation for the most challenging and important roles of my life from which I will never retire. I am a wife and mother.
Our beautiful daughter, born with Down syndrome, requires a cheerleader every now and then and I look good in a short skirt, so here I am. My son only needs my amazing recipes and a little mending (not just by needle and thread). My husband is built like a brick at 6’3″. His mind, body and spirit are mid-western and 150% man. We make each other laugh, a lot.
I’ve traveled all over this country by all forms of transportation. I’ve been fortunate to have seen more of Mexico than the U.S. I’ve driven off a cliff and lived to talk about it, parasailed in a strapless one-piece and lived to talk about it (lol). I value family and friends and am enthralled with stimulating one-on-one conversation. The garden, photography and crafting keep me entertained, but writing is what I am compelled to do. I listen to all music including Chicago, Vivaldi, Blake Shelton, Pink, etc.
