I held her baby in my arms. I could not see the diagnosis in my friend’s child just two days old. Then I heard a voice from my soul. This was not a conscious thought. The voice asked,
“Lord, what are you trying to tell me?”
A year later, we gave birth to our daughter, just 4 lbs, 11 oz. The diagnosis came the next day. The doctor suspected Down syndrome.
Through sobs came our truth. God trusted us with this fragile, heavenly creature. With her came a love we could never fathom.
We have been incredibly blessed by profound lessons of trial and joy, unimaginable unless you walk this path.
Twenty-six years later, we are rich in ways that have nothing to do with money. We are one with the Holy Spirit. We loudly exclaim,
“The glory belongs to God!”
