I’m so blessed to have a husband that supports me in everything I do. Even if he thinks I should be doing household chores, he understands that when the creative juices start flowing, he will find me making things instead. Writing, card-making, crafting, sewing and planting are the things that call my soul into action.

Plastic

I recently bought five containers of Crystal Light (on sale of course). Once I transferred the powder packets to a jar, I found that I just couldn’t toss the tubes into the trash. I immediately had a vision of repurposing them into ghostly Halloween decorations. The cannisters sat on my desk for weeks as the idea began germinating. The only things missing were the batteries. As expensive as batteries are these days, I couldn’t bring myself to buy them for something so frivolous. My hubby bought them for me and the fun began. The brand wrapping came off easily which left me with a perfect frosty white palate. I used black card stock for the facial features and applied them with clear tape. The flickering- battery-operated tealight made all the difference, giving my creatures movement. So simple, so free, so earth-friendly.

Considering the fact that plastic takes 1,000 years to decompose, we join forces with those who wish to make a difference.
