The geese honk as they fly by my house toward the mountains, traveling the route that is instinctive for their journey home. It’s funny, but I don’t recall their coming, just their going.
As they announce their seasonal departure, I stand to see if I can catch a glimpse from my home. It’s just what I do. I excitedly scan the rooftops and the treetops. I marvel at the sight of their perfect aerodynamic formation. I’m fully engaged.
My mind and heart internally exclaim “what a beautiful sight!” I rejoice that these beautiful creatures are now homebound. I don’t know about you, and maybe it sounds silly, but I thank them and God for adding a little extra to my day.
